How to Rock your Photo Session!

Updated: Aug 18, 2018

Hi There! Fancy meeting you here;) So Lets get right to it. We all want to know how to look stunning and match , (or not match) lol

So, first thing first!

1. Feel great in what your wearing

Don't wear something uncomfortable, too clingy, and tight. Especially Seniors!

2. Mom- should get her outfit first. Then pick colors that feed off that.

3. Stripes - please don't do stripes horizontal ( those aren't good for nobody) haha

4. Don't match the kids in the same exact outfit.

5. Ask! I have lots of great advise and ideas.

6. Relax! Act like I'm not there. No, really. Let your love shine, be touchy, mushy and romantic. These make the best photos to be cherished.

7. Play with the kids! Heck, play with each other !

8. Don't force the kids to smile, we will make it happen. If not well, you can have great memories to show at graduation;)

9. Get all dolled up-makeup, hair

10.Get your hair cut about a week or so prior. So you can get in the groove of styling it and men's hair always needs to grow out a little after a cut.

Don't- forget about shoes. Make a statement fit them into your outfit. Please don't wear sneakers, unless they're some really cool converse that goes with a outfit. Shoes can really make or break a photo.

Socks, if your shoes require socks please choose them carefully lol we don't want striped old school gym socks or cool cat ones ( unless they go with your style )

Do-think about your home decor, and where your going to be hanging the photos? Will they clash with that red sofa? Or the farmhouse decor? Plan ahead a space.

Don't- be inauthentic- like styling your hair a different way or wearing to much makeup when you normally don't. You want your personality to shine. Be you.but feel good about it.

Do- be well groomed, fresh pressed and clean

I know, it's a given right? Wrong ! Sometimes this can get over looked . Wrinkles, iron, iron , iron! Wrinkles are really hard and almost impossible to photoshop out, and they stick right out in a photo.

Men, unless you always wear stubble- make sure you shave before. You want to look as handsome as can be!

Don't- over asseccorize,to much! -jewelry,rings,scarves,hats,bows,cool vest, can make the image- but too many can really look staged or take away from you and your beauty.

Do- think timeless for years to come.

Try neutral, classic looks. Try to stay away from trends that will date your images.

Don't - wear graphics,logos,&bold patterns

Patterns are great in moderation. One person wearing patterns ( like plaid) is okay ,great actually. But to many people is way too distracting like I said before it's easiest to center stage a outfit around ( moms or sisters beautiful floral dress and coordinate around that. logos and graphic t shirts are always a no no, leave the cartoon characters at home haha.

Do- add texture and movement.

Adding texture and movement with layers is really beautiful and creates interest in your photos. I absolutely love multiple textures and layers, especially when using softer more muted tones. When I say textures one of the ways to achieve this is with different clothing materials, asseccories and accents. For example tweed, knit, lace, embroidered material, scarves, wraps, etc. These all add deeper dimensions to a image. Movement can be achieved with fabrics and layers as well. Movement really comes alive when you can see a little girls skirt as she twirls or a Mamas flowing dress or wrap, as she runs after her little.

Don't- wear neon colors. It will cast Color onto your skin tone and give off a unnatural look.

I put a few examples of color pallets together. via Pinterest!

Enuff said).
